Game Description

Serving as a follow-up to the 1999 PlayStation RPG Legend of Legaia, Legaia 2: Duel Saga was nearly not released in the United States. Luckily for fans of the series, the title has come stateside nearly a year after its release in Japan. Maintaining the popular fighting system that set the original apart (menu-based combat is set aside for more action-orientated controls) keeps the familiarity of the series, but the scope of the environments and story has been expanded.

Players enter the world as Lang, a member of the local militia serving to protect the town, who leaves to track down a thief who stole the towns magical water source. Along the way he will make friends, enemies, and discover the meaning behind the mysterious solar eclipse that has put the world in eternal night. Fans of the original will enjoy this reintroduction and newcomers will likely be intrigued by the innovative combat system.

Roots & Influences

Legaia 2: Duel Saga is the sequel to the 1999 release Legend of Legaia. Making its debut on the PlayStation 2, this sequel introduces a new cast of characters, new plot, an all-new 3D graphics engine, and the same turn-based, combo filled battles at the original. It adds quite a few never before seen attacks and combinations to the mix. Legaia 2: Duel Saga resembles Xenogears in that both games feature pseudo-similar combat systems.
